Nolan Smiths well known diet book has the tag line:
The Diet that Works motivates and instructs.

The book includes a lot of recipes  to replace bread, sugars and fried foods, which Nolan advises you drop from your diet.  His method works, although it does take some working at. Some will say that if you are "skinny" this is not healthy, but if you need a diet that will drop the pounds then this is a good bet.  Its 224 pages long and is a paperback, published in 2002. 

One of the book's reviewers (Don Walker) comments that they have lost 20 pounds by sticking to the diet proposed by Nolan. They virtually eliminated sugar from their diet and recommended the book, saying that he felt more vibrant and energetic with Nolan's plan.

Although still only available as Kindles, these Body Sculpting books are billed as the "Deluxe Platinum editions, bigger and better!"  This means more work-outs, more on nutrition and more exercise for anyone wanting a total makeover of their physique.

At 400 pages, these are very comprehensive and cover a 21 day express workout with many time-saving exercises. They also include lots of tips and helpful information to keep up your motivation and to help you achieve your desired fitness goals.

The regime for women seems less demanding; for example, it has a 14 day express Sculpting Workshop to follow which is intended to sculpt, slim and strengthen particular contours of women's bodies.  This includes toned arms, flat abs, lean legs, tight buns and the curves all in the places you would expect. It's written by James Villepigue who has over twenty years experience in the health and fitness industry and a considerable amount of certification.

He has appeared in many magazine articles and TV programmes and trains top athletes and artists.

GL stands for Glycaemic Load. It’s a unit of measurement that tells you exactly what a particular food will do to your blood sugar.

We are usually big supporters of the small independent book shops and most try and provide a good service.   It is a sad fact however that many books are being sold by large chains and supermarkets without any thought as to content. Many of the diet books and other weight loss guides are produced simply as 'pulp' or bulk buy items.

The content does not seem as well researched as most of the smaller publishers' titles. 

Invariably most of these books are now available by 'mail order' only. By far the biggest and often the cheapest outlet are Amazon, plus their 'books on demand' facility means that titles are often kept 'bang up to date' and you get a priistine copy, the next day, rather than one that has been sat around in a warehouse for months or maybe years.
