Diets That Work

Honey is one of nature's  most remarkable substances. It is a naturally produced sugar that is nutritious and has so many uses.

Among Honey's biggest advantages is that it doesn't go bad. Archaeologists found unspoiled, 2000-year-old honey in an Egyptian tomb only recently, still good enough to eat.

Honey contains vitamins, minerals and several other nutrients, and all obtained from and processed by bees, one of nature's real miracle worker insects.

Honey also helps in fighting coughs, skin infections, flu, burns and more.  It is in fact a healing superfood that many doctors prescibe for patients.

Girl with skin problem
What to do with infected wounds that refuse to heal. A doctor used honey to successfully treat his mother-in-law when her leg got infected after surgery.

A recent study in New Zealand found honey heals burn wounds twice as fast as traditional dressings. Find out when it's best to use honey for burns (and when you should seek medical attention) by clicking HERE.

Does your baby suffer from nappy rash? Throw out the ointment and grab the honey! Research shows that honey is just as effective.

If you have a painful rash or ulcer then honey can probably help cure it quickly. See here how one study found honey to be FOUR TIMES more effective than traditional dressings!

The most easily obtainable and wholly natural sweetener is honey. It's full of goodness and can help with many other things too, such as this list below:

Bees are under threat

Bees are dying from many factors such as pesticides, drought, habitat destruction, nutrition deficit, air pollution, global warming and more.  Humans are largely responsible for the two biggest causes: pesticides and loss of natural habitats.

Bees are vital to our food supplies and as much as a third of our food depends on this busy little insect. Although most grain crops are pollinated by the wind, almost everything else, nuts, fruit  and vegetables,  rely on pollination by bees. Seventy percent of human food crops and about 90 percent of our planet's food is pollinated by bees.

Nicotinoids threaten bees
Scientist recently found almost 150 different chemicals from pesticides affecting bees. The chemical companies claimed it wasn't them, and spent over $1. BILLION in a massive Public Relations campaign, causing many to  suspect they have something to hide.

In January 2017 Greenpeace announced that neonicotinoids were a serious threat to all flower-hopping 'life-bringers' and many other animals.

Scientific findings in Europe lead to a partial ban of four of the worst bee-harming pesticides where they are used on any crops that are attractive to honey bees.

Now a new report by independent scientists has analysed hundreds of studies and revealed that neonicotinoids are not only a serious threat to honey bees, but also for a wide range of other animals, including bumble bees, butterflies, birds and even water insects. Wild bumble bees are already in decline and becoming extinct.

The world's leading ecology campaigning group Greenpeace have called for a ban on bee-harming pesticides,  starting with a trio of neonicotinoids.

They urge that we break our dependency on synthetic chemical pesticides and start to move towards ecologically friendly alternatives.

Many European farmers are willing to change their practices, but are stuck with a system that depends on pesticides and fertilisers. Greenpeace want politicians to support farmers in their switch to better ecological methods.

"They must eliminate the most environmentally harmful subsidies and shift public spending to research and solid rural development projects which include ecological farming," say Greenpeace.

Bee-killing pesticides

Bee-killing pesticides in particular pose the biggest threat. Industrial scale agriculture, parasites, pathogens and climate change are also posing a huge danger to pollinators.

The loss of biodiversity due to monocultures and the wide-spread use of bee-killing pesticides are huge dangers threatening honeybees and wild pollinators.

It has become clear that some insecticides, exert a negative effect on the health of colonies of bees and other pollinators.
