Warrior Diet

- what is it?

The Warrior Diet was created by Ori Hofmekler and it seems to work best with some periods of intensive exercise, but refraining from eating during the day, and then feast in the evening.

Food choices are based on wholefoods, plants and meat,  but avoiding processed and artificially manufactured food.

The Warrior Diet suggests that you to follow your instinct when it comes to dieting. You should not be swayed by processed foods or rules as to what types of calories and macronutrients to eat and when to eat them. Instead, eat like an ancient warrior -- ancient warriors had little during the day and instead ate their "hunt" at night.

The deviser of the Warrior Diet advocates controlled fasting and exercising on a virtually empty stomach. You ease into having your food intake consist primarily of only one meal a day.

If you adapt to the diet in the way Ori Hofmekler claims you will, you'll be better able to burn fat for fuel, have greater energy and you'll become lean without counting calories.

The Warrior Diet book (details below)  written by Mr Hofmekler, advocates exercise as part of the plan, recommending total body strength training with moves such as press-ups, squats  and high jumps. You are encouraged to include short bursts of high-intensity cardio activity, such as sprints and frog jumps, in these intense sessions that last only 20 to 45 minutes.
The Warrior Diet was originally based on the habits of the world's earliest cultures.  Stone age and iron age man thrived without processed food and they tended to only eat after the sun had gone down.

The Warrior Diet is proving increasingly popular and is much talked about. Nomads, hunters, the Greeks, and the Romans all based their consumption on survival science and Ori Hofleker's book suggests a rather  radical but very simple lifestyle.
Combining historical information and scientific studies  the author points out that robust health and a lean, strong body is most easily got by assuming the classical warrior lifestyle of working and eating sparingly during the day and then feasting once darkness falls.

Specific elements from the Warrior Diet Nutritional Programme reshape not just the body but also your mind and the brain's expectations. The book's chapters cover typical warrior meals and recipes; sex drive and potency.  Sections of the diet are also aimed at women.
"The Warrior Diet shows you how to attain enduring vigor, explosive strength, a better appearance, and increased vitality and health."

The current edition of the Warrior Diet book is 420 pages long and is now in its tenth year of publication It is obtainable from Amazon.

They also stock Ori Hofmekler's other best selling book, Maximum Muscle, Minimum Fat.

The basis of the Warrior Diet is to eat simply, as an old time soldier from hundreds of years ago would have eaten.  In simplest terms, you fast by day but eat as much you wish after dark.

In fact even the daytime period is not all fast as you are allowed to graze, mainly on fruit such as berries, nuts and vegetables.  At night you are allowed as much vegetables, protein amd carbs as you wish.

The Warrior Diet is quite unlike any other diet we have ever come cross. The idea is that it accelerates the metabolism and burns fat. In addition to burning up fat it also builds muscle strength.

The Warrior Diet, devised by Ori Hofmekler,  doesn't demand that you count calories at all, nor are there specific strict food lists. You can skip the daytime grazing if you wish, or keep them to a minimum. What is suggested is alternating between 'minimum eating' phases during the day and then 'overeating phases' in the evening.   According to the Warrior Diet's official web site this promotes the best hormonal environment, improves your energy production and fat burning.
